What is What Request?
What Request is a request scanner for several popular music torrent sites, including What.CD, Waffles, and #indie.torrents. It is capable of scanning requests and doing other neat tricks to make posting torrents easier. Just try it. You'll see.
Requirements:
Mac OS X 10.5+ is required and iTunes 7+.It may work on Tiger but it is untested.
Set-up and Usage:
Just install it with drag & drop, then run it and set preferences. For each site you need to put in your login info. More detailed instructions are included with the application on the About tab.
License and support:
No support is offered for What Request. metaclam will try to help though, and is open to feature requests. He can be reached through this contact form or on many web forums. What Request © 2009. metaclam retains all rights etc. But it is free to use and distribute as you wish. Basically this is a GNU type license without the open source. (The reason it is not open source is because it contains code portions I use commercially.)
History:
1.5.2- fixed request parsing for waffles.fm
- fixed ignoring FLAC, Lossless, and Vinyl for What.CD by doing check on secondary page after finding an iTunes match
- fixed checking whether request already filled for waffles.fm
- fixed login and parsing for What.CD
- unfortunately, for What.CD only, bitrate requests are no longer possible to parse without loading a new page for each request...
- ...so ignoring FLAC and vinyl requests, etc., is no longer possible
- Built on Snow Leoapard
- Fixed waffles.fm login
- Fixed what.cd parsing
- Moved site selection radio buttons to main page
- Added buttons to set defaults for dnuos to the advances preferences.
- Added button to open dnuos home page to the advanced preferences.
- Added an easter egg clue.
- Fixed What.CD login
- Made single Leopard & Tiger version again.
- Fixed What.CD parsing which had broken due to site changes
- Safari auto-fill for What.CD now (correctly) puts rip track details in the Release Description rather than the album description box.
- Separate Tiger build without Path Finder and Growl support due to problems with Leopard build cross-compatibility. :(
- (Hope to restore that functionality in a later release.)
- Made password fields hidden text
- Save blowfish encrypted user names and passwords in preferences
- Note: user/pass still sent in clear text over network (as are the login web forms!)
- Added support for dnuos.
